Survey: Half of all high-school students take a smartphone to school

A recent survey finds 51% of high-school students carry a smartphone with them to school daily. The nationwide survey of parents, conducted by Grunwald Associates in coordination with the Learning First Alliance, found that about 25% of K-12 students carry a smartphone with them daily, and the rate drops to 8% among students in third through fifth grade. The survey also found that some parents remain concerned by the potential distractions of smartphones in the classroom, education reporter Sean Cavanagh writes in this blog post.
