When presented with a choice between hiring two similarly qualified job candidates, hiring managers may turn to more subjective measures of the prospects, writes Stephen Viscusi, author of "Bulletproof Your Job." To be safe, Viscusi recommends candidates have a "Viagra handshake," even if they are women; whiten their teeth; and make eye contact. And, he adds, "please don't go into an interview smelling like you were just assaulted at the Bloomingdale's perfume counter."
