Lobbyists speak up on Cybersecurity Act

The lobbying war is heating up over pending cybersecurity legislation, with one of the largest tech trade associations battling security vendors. The Cybersecurity Act would create, among other things, standards that apply to some businesses in the private sector. TechAmerica opposes the provision, calling for more education about the importance of cybersecurity investments instead, while security vendors Fortify Software and Qualys support broad government-established standards.
