How to get the most out of what remains of the school year

It's important that teachers and students finish the school year strong, says teacher and author Larry Ferlazzo. In this excerpt from his new book, Ferlazzo suggests using student-centered learning or project-based instruction to keep students motivated until the final day. Field trips and technology projects also can energize students, Ferlazzo writes. For teachers, he recommends working fewer hours, reaching out to other teachers and trying new things in the classroom.
