New rules could spark innovation, CFTC's Chilton says

Bart Chilton, a member of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, said rules being finalized by the agency and other regulators could result in innovation in the derivatives markets. Chilton said the changes could lead to the launch of exchanges and other financial firms. "What has been done so far leaves a lot of room for genuine innovation and real creativity, real competition and real opportunities for economic progress," Chilton said.
