Report: Federal SIG turnaround strategies lack definitive research

Very little data supports, or refutes, the four turnaround strategies required of schools that accept federal School Improvement Grant funds, according to a recent Center for Public Education report. "If you have a low-performing school that you want to turn around, the first thing to do is to examine the capacity in the district to undertake any of these models," the center's director, Patte Barth, said.
