Study: Rainfall, drought may worsen because of climate change

Dry regions of the world are likely to experience more drought as rainfall could become heavier in the wettest regions as a result of global warming, according to a study by NASA. The analysis indicates that "the global water cycle undergoes a gigantic competition for moisture resulting in a global pattern of increased heavy rain, decreased moderate rain and prolonged droughts in certain regions," said William Lau, a lead author of the study.
