Long-awaited Senate approval of transportation bill may come next week

Many in the transportation industry are holding their breath as the Senate stands to possibly approve a new transportation bill during the week of May 9, after a 19-month delay. Senate Finance Committee Chairman Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, and Sen. Max Baucus, D-Montana, are expected to introduce a floor amendment to add as much as $10 billion to $15 billion to what is now a $284 billion bill.
