Educator determined to see more black students graduate from college

Milwaukee charter school founder Deanna Singh, 27, hopes each of her students will go on to graduate from college in part due to her curriculum, which includes a longer school day to accommodate gym and art as well as a constant focus on attaining a college degree. "She's clearly thinking about higher education," a student's grandmother said of Singh. "We have to provide our children an opportunity to be transformed."
