Oregon district looks at ways to meet the needs of gifted students

Educators in Medford, Ore., are reviewing their gifted-education programs to ensure they are meeting the needs of students. The district educates its gifted students using differentiated instruction in mainstream classrooms, but some parents and school board members say the district should develop better ways to serve gifted students. About 4.7% of the district's 12,000 students are identified as gifted.
