The shift from store to Web speeds up

As bricks-and-mortar stores struggled during the downturn, online shopping continued in growth mode, reports InternetRetailer.com. A soon-to-be-released survey of the Top 500 online retailers details e-commerce growth. Pure-play online stores reported the biggest boost last year, led by Amazon.com, which accounted for more than half of that category's sales.
