D.C.-area malls add services, signs to win over foreign shoppers

Malls in the Washington, D.C., area are adding announcements, signage and brochures in Mandarin, Japanese and other languages as part of a larger push to cater to growing throngs of foreign tourists who come to shop. Last year, foreign shoppers spent $168.1 billion in the U.S., up 10% from 2011, according to the Commerce Department.
