Media firms woo consumers and advertisers with original shows

Media companies are launching dozens of original shows online, hoping the programming will win users' eyeballs and advertisers' attention. The roster, which includes 11 shows from Yahoo, 14 from AOL and 30 from Conde Nast, signals that the "premium video" niche is growing in importance, AOL CEO Tim Armstrong says. "Consumers are adopting video very quickly. ... So I think this industry is about to explode," he said.
