More health systems expect big spending on HIT

The proportion of hospitals and health systems that anticipate telecommunications and health IT will be their biggest investment in the coming year has reached 43%, according to a survey conducted by Premier health care alliance. The survey also indicated that insufficient clinical care coordination and overuse of services and products are the leading factors fueling health care costs.
