Thales eyes a more interactive, money-making moving map

Thales is looking to make moving maps show more than where a plane is -- it could be a source of advertising or ancillary revenue. "We see the map application as a platform to add layers of additional content onto that so once you connect to the Internet, it really opens up the possibilities to anything. You're no longer limited to the capacity stored on the onboard server," said Jeff Goodman, senior product line manager.
