Retirees are unsure about annuities, study finds

Retirees responding to surveys gave mixed and sometimes conflicting responses about whether they want annuities and, if they do, whether they prefer a lifetime income stream or a lump sum of cash. Studies by BlackRock and Harvard University indicated that retirees wish they had more control over their money to make investments, but they also want a steady stream of income.
