Teacher uses online sources to teach current events

A high-school teacher in Texas devotes time each week to reviewing current events with her students. Shelly McAninch said she uses the New York Times website as a source of current news, and also encourages her students to use social media, such as Facebook, to get the latest information. Students then analyze the news articles, and McAninch said that over time, students have begun leading class discussions about the news.
