1-page summary of homeowners coverage is required under new N.J. law

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has signed a bill that will require insurers that sell homeowners policies to include a one-page summary of the coverage in the information packet attached to new and renewed policies. Lawmakers said the measure is aimed at preventing the policyholder confusion that followed Hurricane Sandy. The state Department of Banking and Insurance will seek public comment before setting a time frame for the law's implementation, according to a department spokesman.
