BNSF's $500M SCIG project is a sound investment

BNSF's proposed $500 million Southern California Intermodal Gateway in California "is a good project on both economic and environmental grounds," writes Dave Arian, Los Angeles Harbor Commission vice president. The project "is critical to the competitiveness of both the Los Angeles and Long Beach ports, and that is important because it would help ensure that the tens of thousands of jobs supported by the cargo industry remain in this region," Arian says.
