State budget cuts have forced the University of Wyoming to use attrition to cut 54 faculty and staff jobs. Twelve of those positions were faculty as the school worked to meet an $11.8 million reduction in its budget. University President Tom Buchanan said the cuts will hurt the school. "The effects of the cuts also will take the form of reduced effectiveness in instructional support, reduced student services and reduced capacity to maintain the physical plant," Buchanan said.
