Buy side needs new clearing communication systems, TABB says

Will Rhode, director of fixed-income research at TABB Group, said that institutional investors need to improve their communication systems before new rules governing clearing of over-the-counter derivatives go into effect next month. "Without a system than can communicate with the clearinghouse to ensure all necessary fields and coding requirements are met prior to execution, the buy side will find it impossible to manage their swaps portfolios effectively in a centrally cleared world," Rhode said.
