Common EHR mistakes: Poor training, shortcuts and more

Signing an unvetted EHR system contract, providing insufficient training to staff and putting too much data into the system are among the most common mistakes made by physicians with their EHRs, according to this report. The use of workarounds and other EHR shortcuts, using a shadow system of paper documentation and tolerating system inefficiency were also on the list.
