Consumers plan to spend more on clothes, entertainment

A quarter of Americans are looking to buy new clothes and 22% will spend on out-of-home entertainment, according to a report by the Nielsen Global Survey of Consumer Confidence and Spending Intentions. Consumers remain cautious, but 42% say they will spend on discretionary items this year -- up six points from the fourth quarter of 2012.
