DARPA's ARMs demonstrate dexterity

A version of DARPA's Autonomous Robotic Manipulation device is able to pick up ball bearings, open and close locked doors and grasp a fare card, skills that could be applied to fields including prosthetics and factory work. Researchers at iRobot, Harvard and Yale universities and other institutions are collaborating with DARPA on the prototype ARM.
