Electronic communication gains ground as companies cut sales jobs

One-on-one electronic detailing, group electronic meetings and e-mail use by drugmakers rose 65% in the U.S. and 40% in Europe in 2012 over 2011, while sales staff were cut, a Cegedim Strategic Data study found. "We are just scratching the surface with the first generation of how these platforms will continue to radically change the rep/physician dynamic," said Havas Worldwide Chief Digital Officer Larry Mickelberg.
