FDA may reconsider food additive rules

The Food and Drug Administration may study and revise rules on food additives that have remained the same for more than 50 years. "We are an agency with a wonderful history, but many of our laws are rooted in a different historical era," said Commissioner Margaret Hamburg. "An important question to ask is, would this be a good time to look at this issue again?"
