General Mills seen as a potential WhiteWave buyer

WhiteWave, which is being spun off by Dean Foods, would be a good purchase for General Mills, according to Sanford Bernstein analyst Alexia Howard. In a note to clients she wrote, "We believe this could pave the way for an acquisition of WhiteWave, and it could be particularly attractive to General Mills, given the latter's struggling U.S. yogurt business and previous experience with 8th Continent soy milk."
