Human trafficking is an elusive crime

Human trafficking within a country is on the rise, making it difficult to discover and prevent, writes IRIN. "For cross border trafficking, people must pass through the hands of several government agencies, but internally trafficked people need not come to the attention of any officials, so in many ways it's a more alarming situation," said Denis Nihill of the International Organization of Migration.
