More optimism emerges on U.S. jobs front

A positive U.S. unemployment report last week has gotten further confirmation as a Conference Board compilation of labor indicators for April points to more jobs gains moving ahead. "On average, employment has grown almost as fast as [gross domestic product] over the past three years, and that is likely to continue into the third quarter of 2013," said Gad Levanon, The Conference Board's director of macroeconomic research.
