Mortgage banking chief calls for merged Fannie-Freddie bonds

The U.S. should merge the mortgage-backed securities issued by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, says David Stevens, CEO of the Mortgage Bankers Association. The move could jump-start reform of the government-sponsored housing finance market, he said. "Everybody's talking about change, but nobody's doing anything about it," Stevens said.
