N.Y. to reap income benefits if it allows fracking, report says

Upstate New York will see income levels climb faster if the state allows hydraulic fracturing, according to a report by the Empire Center for New York State Policy. Meanwhile, if each county in the state's shale region gets 400 wells, they "could see their per-capita income increase by 15 percent by 2015," Jon Campbell writes. However, he notes it is unlikely that many wells would be drilled.
