Pa. Senate OKs data breach notification bill

The Pennsylvania Senate approved a bill that would order state agencies to inform people affected by a data breach within seven days after occurrence. Agencies would also be required to inform local district attorneys or the state Office of Administration about the incident within three days to let them decide whether the situation should be investigated. The Office of Administration would also have to create a data storage policy to limit the risk of breaches.
