Race, weight may play role in raising BP levels in some children

The role of race and obesity in increasing hypertension rates was more pronounced among Hispanic and white children, compared with blacks and Asians, and occurred at a lower body mass index, a study showed. The findings, based on more than 20,000 children, were presented at the Pediatric Academic Societies meeting.
