Retail investors embrace mini options in U.S.

After their launch in March, U.S. mini options have attracted the attention of retail investors. "We're seeing a definite lift in people engaged in these options, not only those who hadn't traded these [individual stock options], but also people hadn't traded options at all before," says Joe Kinahan of TD Ameritrade. The mini options allow investors to purchase options in some liquid stocks that are tied to 10 shares, instead of the standard 100.
