Social Security reform could affect high-net-worth clients

Proposals to reform the Social Security system may end the "file and suspend" option, which allows a client to file for benefits while still working but suspend collection of them to take advantage of the higher benefit level without jeopardizing spousal distribution. The authors suggest discussing this strategy with high-net-worth clients before the opportunity to elect it is potentially eliminated.
