Summit puts focus on human exploration of Mars

NASA and private space companies have their sights set on manned missions to Mars, and scientists are meeting this week in Washington, D.C., for the "Humans 2 Mars Summit" to discuss the goal. "With the collaboration of experts in the space and science communities and non-traditional players, we will come out of the summit enlightened, encouraged and ready to plan for a human mission to Mars by 2030," said Chris Carberry, executive director of the nonprofit Explore Mars, a sponsor of the event.
