Sustainability reporting is spreading, with purchasers such as the General Services Administration and the U.S. Army demanding environmental-footprint data from their suppliers. Those suppliers then request information from their own suppliers, writes Mike Wallace. Soon, he argues, few firms will be able to escape reporting their impact.
