Tire maker to build $300M, million-square-foot plant in Miss.

The Yokohama Tire Corp. -- the California-based manufacturing unit of Japan's Yokohama Rubber Co. -- will build its first commercial tire plant in the U.S. The firm will spend $300 million on a 1-million-square-foot factory on a 500-acre site in Mississippi. The project, which received economic incentives from the state, is scheduled to break ground in June or July, with actual construction to start in September.
