Wash. health care system transitions to Epic EHR system

Olympic Medical Center in Washington state has replaced the Meditech EHR system in its hospital and affiliated clinics with one from Epic. The new system is expected to enable providers and patients to view patient data in real time using a Web-based portal. The health care system invested $10 million in the technology and recruited temporary staff to fill in for permanent employees while they undergo training.
