Why MBA students need to learn China-style networking

The traditional form of networking in China, called "guanxi," is different from Western-style networking, and every MBA student who wants to work and thrive in China must learn about it, says Bruce Stening, a professor at Peking University’s BiMBA program. "What sets guanxi apart from the type of networks we are used to in the West is the strong sense of obligation inherent within it. Favors are always returned," Matt Symonds writes.
