Women's group mixes up Somalian and Caribbean pirates

A former hostage of Somalian pirates who talked about his traumatic experience found that his audience contained a group of women outfitted with eye patches and cutlasses. The group had mistakenly believed Colin Darch to be an expert in historical pirates, rather than the modern-day African bandits. "I think they were worried I might be a bit upset that they were trivializing it, but I thought it was funny," Darch says.
