Workers want tuition help, but employers are skeptical

About two-thirds of employees say they think companies should find ways to help them put their children through higher education, but just 17% of firms offer such scholarships. Tuition assistance can help build loyalty, but the return on investment isn't always clear-cut. "This is an increasingly costly benefit," says economist Richard Vedder.
