Facebook strikes location deal with McDonald's

Facebook is almost ready to launch a location-aware status-update feature, and it's working closely with marketers to make sure the project pays off. McDonald's has signed a deal giving it the first shot at using the new system for marketing purposes, and is working on an app to showcase the tool's abilities. The new feature could go live sometime this month.
