Biotronik obtains FDA OK for cardiac implants

The FDA has granted German device firm Biotronik approval for its Ilesto 7 line of next-generation implantable cardioverter-defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillators. The smaller and lighter implants are designed to help doctors track atrial data and potentially detect previously undiagnosed atrial fibrillation.
