UK retailers including Marks & Spencer and Next have been taking over the operation of their stores in the Czech Republic from franchisees, and they're setting good examples and providing opportunities for homegrown merchants. "British business is well-regarded in the Czech Republic. The British business model gave me the competitive advantage to get ahead," said Pavel Čmelík, who opened his first T.M. Lewin franchise 16 months ago and is now preparing to open his fourth store.
