Closing the "green" skills gap

When looking to fill positions that involve sustainability, don't limit your search to candidates who have extensive training in renewable energy, experts say. "It's impossible to expect anyone to be able to do the job on day one," says Joel Ritschel of Healthy Buildings. A better strategy is to hire candidates with traditional skills and train them on green-technology systems, Ritschel says.
