Do-gooders do better work, experts say

Companies that let their workers spend time on volunteering and other social-good projects see a "feel good, do good effect" whereby employees grow more committed and productive, experts say. "When a person understands how his or her actions will make a difference and to whom, he or she invests more in the activity and ultimately, performs better," Deirdre White writes.
