While employment and consumer spending are looking stronger, growth in gross domestic product is lackluster and sequestration might be starting to take a toll on the economy, John Cassidy writes. "Compared to previous recoveries, this one is still pretty tepid, and there remains a lot of slack in the economy, as evidenced by the [workforce] participation rate," he writes.
