Fast-casual sales surpass sit-down restaurant sales in France

Sales at fast-casual restaurants such as McDonald's, Burger King and Subway have surpassed sales at French sit-down restaurants for the first time, according to a survey by food consultancy firm Gira Conseil. Fast-casual restaurants accounted for more than half of all restaurant sales in France last year, which could be due in part to shorter lunch hours and the higher price of sit-down restaurant meals.
