Fed survey: Credit card and auto loan standards are easing

A small fraction of banks eased standards on credit cards and auto loans in the past three months, while other consumer loans stayed the same, according to a quarterly survey of the Federal Reserve's senior loan officers. Standards for business loans loosened as demand increased. The survey also reports that "only a small number of respondents indicated that they offer private student loans and, among those that provide such loans, lending policies were about unchanged over the past year."
